How to Sell on Ebanned
Selling on Ebanned is very easy once you
get the hang of it! Ebanned provides you with a step by step
listing form that has instructions located on every step.
Follow the steps below to start selling.
-
Register, if you aren't already.
Set up your seller account by submitting your valid credit card/debit
card information. We require all sellers to keep updated billing
information on file at all times in order to maintain their seller
account status. We bill very discreetly so you never have to worry about
seeing EBANNED on your credit card or bank statements.
- Get an image host.
Since Ebanned does not host your auction photos, you must have an image
host. The easiest option by far is an image host that is cheap, easy to
use and reliable. We have partnered with
Photeto as our preferred image host. It's easy to use with hundreds
of templates to get you going.
- Determine how you want to accept
payment.
Paypal does not allow transactions from Ebanned or any adult type of
transaction. So you'll need to find an alternate. Some sellers find
using cash or money orders the easiest after they have set up a PO box
in order to receive private mail. Electronic payment options are out
there but at this time there are none Ebanned feels comfortable
recommending. It's best to do some research to determine what types of
payments are best for you in your situation.
- Fill out the Sell Your Item form.
This is where you'll fill out all the details about the item you are
selling. Our simple one-page listing form is quite easy to use.
Determine if your item is allowed. Ebanned is mostly flexible on
what we allow our members to sell, however, there are some restrictions
so read them carefully. Violations can cost you money, time and likely
your account.
Choose your category. It's best to
browse the
categories before you list your first item so you'll have an idea
which one will visually give you the best exposure for your item.
Ebanned does ask that you do your best to keep the items you list in
their proper category. After all, if you make an item hard to find, how
can it get most bids possible?
Write your title. Titles are important! You have limited space for your
title so make it eye-catching and informative.
Time for your description. This is where you really get to describe and
promote what you are selling. Be creative, a good listing can improve
your chances for a sale by at least 50%. If you like to use backgrounds
or use templates from
Photeto, this is where you paste the HTML code given to you. We
don't limit your space inside your listing so go all out! Since our
listing form only allows for one photo, you can put as many images in
this space as you like using HTML.
Promote your website with a banner. While we have policy that prohibits
you mentioning your website in your auction listing, we do provide the
space to add a banner for a small fee. You'll need to enter your banner
url (hosted by your image host) and the url to the website you are
linking to. This is the ONLY acceptable way to place a url (linked or
not) in your listing. If you have no need of this service, you can just
leave it blank.
Now it's time to set up the specifics about your item. Set your start
price, a reserve if you want one and a BuyIt price if you want one. If
you have a BuyIt on your item, you can include a small message that will
display at the top of your listing to your buyers. Set your bid
increment and you're finished with that section.
Now it's time to add a picture to display at the bottom of your listing.
This section also adds the photo icon in the category listing. Adding a
photo is largely optional, however, most all items sell better with a
photo. In this electronic age, buyers want to see what they are getting.
You can put the URL or web address (gotten from your image host) in this
section.
A few more specifics about your item such as Dutch (multiple piece
instant purchase), the quantity, the payment and shipping information.
Determine if you want a private auction and set up your automated free
relist.
The last section is for item enhancements. These are paid upgrades you
can select to help your item stand out from the masses. Each item has a
fee attached to it and you should read each option carefully to
determine what you will be getting.
Hit the submit button to preview.
- Preview and confirm.
Check your listing carefully and verify the fees associated with this
item. Once your item is sent to auction no fees are refundable. If you
need to edit any part of your item, you can use your back button to go
back and make the necessary changes. When everything looks good, click
the submit button and your item has just been listed!
Once your item ends...
- Communicate with your buyer.
Communication is key to any type of internet business.
Ebanned does not provide a checkout process nor do we provide either the
buyer or the seller with any information other than a userid and an
email address. Once the listing ends, it is up to the buyer and the
seller to work out payment and shipping details. This should be done in
a timely manner. Our suggestion is within 3 (three) days.
- Send your items with tracking.
Protecting yourself from claims of non-sending is important for new
sellers. Tracking can be had for a small fee from the post office. Keep
good records in case of a dispute. Ebanned may be able to find in your
favor if you can provide a tracking number for a package you sent but
the buyer never received.
- Leave feedback for your buyer.
Leaving feedback for your buyer after you send the item is good
practice. The feedback system can help build a members reputation and
feedback for a great transaction is always appreciated by the member.
